Moments...
Was at Audubon park over the weekend and these were two of my favorite images captured. Sometimes, it’s these little moments in life that come by unexpectedly and manages to make you feel all warm & fuzzy inside. :) —-

Weekend with the animals!
The past weekend had been very fulfilling!
Spent the entire Saturday afternoon at the Animal Rescue New Orleans (http://www.animalrescueneworleans.org) doing volunteer work where we cleaned stuff and got to play with the dogs and cats. I’ve always wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter and this even made it to my resolution’s list one year but I just put it off until I saw the...

Halloween in NOLA
Coming from a place where the Halloween culture is non-existant except for themed parties at clubs, I told myself, I MUST celebrate Halloween proper. Well… at least once in my life right?
There are so many gorgeous houses here in NOLA all decked up in Halloween accessories!
BOO!

Have you ever...
Have you ever heard a story of someone else’s life and shed a tear because you couldn’t help it? I did. Today. Hearing the story of a friend’s mum and usually I’m not that emotional hearing about someone’s life but I couldn’t help it and the tears just flowed down. :( When you think your life suck, always remember that someone somewhere out there had it worse,...

New Orleans: French Quarter & Bourbon Street
After 2 months here in New Orleans, we realized what losers we have been since we have not even explored the city’s most famous places - French Quarter and Bourbon Street. So amidst our tests and shitload of assignments, we decided to go down on Sunday :) As the streetcar drove through the place to our destination, all the sights tis making me fall in love with NOLA. Thoughts about leaving...

Celebrate Good Times!
I’m loving how dinners at our place are always so much fun! This time round we had more people over cause it was K’s 21st birthday :) Wanted to bring her out for dinner but decided that we should cook for her instead and have everyone come over and celebrate together.
It’s also like a gathering of the different Asian nations! China, Hongkong, Singapore & Korea!

Overheard at Tulane
This cracked me up a little when I was walking back from class. Think I’m still not used to the liberal use of the f-word here in the United States

Girl 1: There’s a girl in my class who only speaks Spanish
Girl 2: Cool
Girl 1: Yeah, that sounds cool until she realizes ‘fuck, I have no idea what’s going on in all my classes!’

The first thing I saw when I switched on my laptop during my 8am class this morning was this:

Missing the food back home in Singapore so much. I would do almost anything to have those (amongst many other favorites) infront of me now. 3 more months to the end of this amazing journey...

San Francisco: Orange Village Hostel & Cheesecake...
Caught a flight to S.F from New York (LGA).
We were happily having our breakfast in the airport, thinking we were early but didn’t realize that there was a long line to pass through security and ended up running for our plane. We were like one of the last few to board. Got a pretty good first row seat though, so that was not too bad since it was such a long flight from NY to SF.

Read this story about Marriage on Facebook and it was such a bittersweet story…
It’s pretty long so click “read more” if you’re interested.

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I’ve got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

New York City: Upper East Side, MET, Central Park,...
Spent the morning at T-Mobile trying to fix my phone plan since the dudes near our place did something unethical when he opened my line.
Advice here, never go to the retailer! We didn’t know they were retailers and thought it was the real store and got ourselves cheated (they charged us extra and my line went wonky and changed the number by itself after 2 days and I received calls...

New York City: Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller,...
Since NYC has been raining for the past few days we decided to make use of the sunny weather to head to the Statue of Liberty before it gets rainy again…
Being the typical tourist we got excited when we saw this fake “statue” and headed over immediately when he beckoned. Bad move. He charged us $5 for snapping this shot.
So people, never ever be fooled.

New York City: Brooklyn Bridge

Dedicating an entire entry to our little visit to the Brooklyn Bridge cause I love the photos I took from this place! What a arrogant comment but still… I’m proud of some of my shots and I’m sharing them here.

Pnina Tornai
In my Media Analysis class today, the teacher requested for students to bring along videos which they thought could relate to Marxists’ ideology and someone introduced the video clip from “Say Yes To The Dress” featuring Pnina Tornai.
I was blown away by her designs.
I think I’ve found my dream wedding dress designer… for now at least!

Goodbye Singapore, Hello USA!
It has been almost a month since I left the sunny island and here I am finally getting down to blog despite having a pile of readings waiting to be done…
I’ve always heard about the different levels of emotion people will feel when they go on exchange and all and I think my low level (homesick) kicked in even before I left! But I’m glad I got over it as soon as I started...

How time really flies. In a blink of an eye, i’m 3days away from boarding. It seems like just yesterday when I received my acceptance in the Student Exchange Programme (SEP) by NUS and now I’m about to leave to live my American studying abroad dream.
I am not feeling the excitement just yet… I’ve many things going on in Singapore this year which really makes it the WORSE...
