San Francisco: Orange Village Hostel & Cheesecake Factory

Caught a flight to S.F from New York (LGA).

We were happily having our breakfast in the airport, thinking we were early but didn’t realize that there was a long line to pass through security and ended up running for our plane. We were like one of the last few to board. Got a pretty good first row seat though, so that was not too bad since it was such a long flight from NY to SF.

Boarding Tickets.

Reached S.F. and it was really cold! I like it though…  Caught a supershuttle to our hostel - Orange Village Hostel which was like a 5mins walk away from Union Square/Powell Street

Was surprised to find S.F. to be such a “hilly” place. It’s slopes everywhere! Thank goodness for the weather and public transportation else I would have died walking up those slopes.

Our first hostel experience at Orange Village Hostel - hostel run by Koreans.

Pretty fuss free and since it’s not ensuite, we only have a sink in the room. Bathroom is down the corridor and they do not have a sink in the bathroom! So it’s really retarded cause we need to walk back to our room to wash our hands. How stupid.

ZM’s bed. I’m glad I didn’t take the top bed of the double decker. The bed’s so creaky and I didn’t like it.

I love their blankets but it’s really gross cause towards the end of our trip we saw the cleaning lady in our room cleaning the bed of a girl who moved out and we realized… they do not change the blankets! YUCKS!

Locker storage.

My opinion on hostels…

This was pretty clean and convenient and that’s about it that I really liked. Other than that, I really dislike staying in a hostel. Felt so restricted! Our hostel roommates sleep early and get irritated by the lights and we had to move around as quiet as possible. That is really inconvenient. I mean I expected people who choose to stay in a hostel to be more accommodating but nope! Find myself accommodating to these people ALL the time and it was just annoying…

But it’s cheap! So I guess,  well opportunity cost!

Union Square at night. This is where Victoria’s Secret is.

Headed over to Cheesecake Factory twice during our trip.

The cheesecakes were really good but goodness, got really sick after eating a slice to myself. Wish we had a larger group too then we could have tried more flavours.

The menu.

Yummm…

Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.

ZM’s cheesecake (i forgot the flavour)

And we shared a Red Velvet Cheesecake on the last night. I liked this the best out of the three but one slice of this is like 1.5times of the ones above, so please share!
