Celebrate Good Times!

I’m loving how dinners at our place are always so much fun! This time round we had more people over cause it was K’s 21st birthday :) Wanted to bring her out for dinner but decided that we should cook for her instead and have everyone come over and celebrate together.

It’s also like a gathering of the different Asian nations! China, Hongkong, Singapore & Korea!

Had a long day at school so in order to cook this dish, I prepared the crumbs the day before (hand crushed ok, not those store bought ones) and tenderize the meat during my break time. So thoughtful right? :p

Smells so good!

Yay, everyone loved it! Must definitely make this for the BBs when I’m back in Singapore.

One of my friend from NUS is from Sze Chuan and he makes those spicy dishes really well! I love this dish called  回锅肉 (Twiced Cooked Pork), it’s sooo good! And these are all the special ingredients that go into the making of it

We were supposed to learn how to cook and ZM was suppose to fry it. But the smell of the peppercorns and spices were so overwhelming that EVERYONE in the house except him were running out of the kitchen, choking, coughing and sneezing. It was a crazy and funny sight! No one could stop coughing and we couldn’t breathe cause the whole apartment smelt like pepepr.

YUMMMY!

My housemates.

Cucumber and Jellyfish!

Happy 21st Birthday Babe! :)

JF’s Braised Chili Wings and Potatoes

Our yummy dinner spread! I love such gatherings :)

Finally 21!

Unlike in SIngapore where 18 is the legal age for drinking, here in the US, 21’s the legal age. So I guess, turning 21 is pretty big for the Americans too.

Group Photo!

The two Korean guys brought alcohol over and according to them, the Korean tradition for someone’s birthday is that everyone will concoct a drink for the birthday baby. For K, we mixed juice, soda, rum, vodka and a little bit of cheesecake :p

This was her before she started on the drink…

This was her at the end of the night after finishing that cup!

CHEERS!

And…

I foung Nic’s doppelgänger! I was looking at E the entire night thinking he looks oddly familiar (didn’t get that feeling when I first met him) until I realized that it’s cause there’s an uncanny resemblance  to Nic! Haha, what more these two people are born  only 10 days apart.

I always hear about how there’s someone else in the world who’s like your twin (physically) and I guess I found his here in NOLA :)

What an awesome night we had!

Time to hit the books.
