Halloween in NOLA

Coming from a place where the Halloween culture is non-existant except for themed parties at clubs, I told myself, I MUST celebrate Halloween proper. Well… at least once in my life right?

There are so many gorgeous houses here in NOLA all decked up in Halloween accessories!

BOO!

One of the most popular house along St. Charles. People go there to take pictures of the Halloween deco. Us included.

Til death do us part

Wat’s that on the tree trunk?

Went on a Haunted Harvest tour and it said Pumpkin Patch and I was excited to see a real pumpkin patch. Turns out to be a fake pumpkin patch. According to the owner, NOLA’s weather ain’t suitable for pumpkin growing so what he did was import those pumpkins, put them on the farm for people to pick. -.- Felt a little cheated. But the pretty flowers he grew kinda make up for that.

Pretty flowers I picked!

The day before, OISS in school organized a Halloween gathering and there was pumpkin carving competition! Too bad I had to rush off for class and all I got to do was scrape the inside of the pumpkin clean of it’s flesh with my bare hands. Wish I got to carve it :(  That only made me determined to have at least a 2nd proper Halloween in my life, so this shall not be the last.

Cute but disgustingly sweet cake.

Halloween kit kat!

When it’s Halloween season, chocolates and biscuits go Halloween themed. Football season and you get Ritz biscuits shaped like a football. Christmas season coming? No problem, it will be themed too!

Me and my bitches! Opps, I mean witches

Couldn’t find red make up at Walmart and I had to resort to whatever little stuff I had in my makeup pouch but am still proud of my work of art!

Super hawt zebra who got endless male attention that night

You’ll never be too old for Halloween

Mass Dance on the streets. I love the whole atmosphere!

Our first Hurricane at where the drink originated from - O’briens!

Complimentary blowjob from some random person.

Semi-drunk

My posse <3! Animal girls and witches :)

New Orleans: French Quarter & Bourbon Street

After 2 months here in New Orleans, we realized what losers we have been since we have not even explored the city’s most famous places - French Quarter and Bourbon Street. So amidst our tests and shitload of assignments, we decided to go down on Sunday :)

As the streetcar drove through the place to our destination, all the sights tis making me fall in love with NOLA. Thoughts about leaving (keeps popping up) is making me really sad. I would love love love to extend my stay and just finish my final semester here but oh wells. :(

Saw a shop selling Saints merchandises. We need to get some Saints-like clothes for the game next month but dang, they are all so expensive!

Am definitely going to buy a pretty mask before I leave. Only problem is… how to bring it back?

Bustling streets. A perfect time to go cause the streets were filled with pre-gamers.

Colts and Saints fan.

Halloween deco all over! Why don’t we have a Halloween culture in Singapore? :(

Tits on display for phototaking

Tits for tips?

Witty or just slutty?

We get excited when we see a bunch of people hanging out at the 2nd level (onwards) of the building cause usually they would throw mardi gras beads down to people!

What better way to get some free beads. It’s like a culture or something.

Some would want you to flash before they would throw though. This old dude with this nice silver beads refused to throw it down and kept asking me to flash (and proceeded on to flash himself. torso only people) so I was like forget it, bye! And then he relented and threw it down, whoohoo! Yay for me, nay for it.

Our first mardi gras beads!

In Saints color - perfect! Now K and I wouldn’t need to source for accessories for our Saints game!

Bourbon Street

Pretty tutus! Wanted to get it for Halloween but oh wells, too expensive!

what a … …

Louisiana Supreme Court - so pretty!

Some random pretty looking hotel

We were starving! Finally found the place which our housemate recommended - Deanie’s!

Boiled potatoes with a really yummy seasoning on the skin! So we just ate it all up whereas everyone else there, skinned the potatoes before eating :x

Crawfish Quartet! (Crawfish Etouffe, Crawfish Balls, Fried Crawfish and Cheesy Crawfish)

Dinner Platter (Catfish, Shrimp & Oysters)

And as usual, we cannot finish our food (2 entrees for 3 people) when the Americans all ordered an entree each. Gosh.

Walking back along Bourbon after dinner, I got myself my first jello shot and my first… *drumroll* hand grenade!

Heard so much about this drink from housemate. Apparently it’s only sold on Bourbon Street  (only 4 shops there with the rights to sell it) in New Orleans. And it’s said to be quite potent, like the equivalent of 4 Standard Drinks!

it has this sweet tangy taste which was exactly how some people warned me. They said you would think it’s sweet and yummy and finish it in and instant and get knocked out. So I went easy and took a really long time to finish it.

Conclusion? LOVE IT! Cute souvenir too!

Right… Why would you even drop some money in for this guy?!?

Funny characters walking all around

my harvest!

proud of it and loving it!

I've had a blog for as long as I can remember and after hopping around from diaryland to blogspot to a previous tumblr account I've finally settled on this.

This blog serves as a space for me to document and share little nougats of my random mumblings or just plain frivolous nothings.
